Nite outs

                                                              Nite Outs

"Nite out"----This defines it all!!!A major stress buster for anyone. Be it students, bachelor/spinster working professionals and even to an extent for married individuals :P. So in this post i will be revisiting some of the stuff that we usually do or encounter in a nite out.(I won’t be discussing about geeky niteouts where people do niteouts for studying or completing journals).

1) This generally kicks off with normal ice breakers like “Howz work going on/howz studies going on “until someone among the group comes with the commanding statement "Eh band karo be .aaaj bhi yehi discussion kar rahe ho to".

 2) Then the topic changes to discussion of the opposite sex. Crushes, Love, Breakup, Groaning, infatuation, attraction etc are manifested in different words.(Include a bit of marriage discussion too!!!)

3) Soon people realize that they have a future to focus upon, and then start discussing about future. They generally are very confused about whether to go for an MS/MBA/M.tech or continue working...Hence they ponder over this for a prolonged time. At the end of this discussion they are still in confusion (:P).So they stop discussing it and move on...:) :)

4) This is yet another famous statement during niteouts..."Dude u know what we will work for some time and get together and start a company!!!”

5) Moving on, they turn to social issues like politics, sports, how to make India a developed country and so on....(This is applicable only to a guys nite out)

6) Booze, Booze, Booze a key player, rather an inevitable ingredient of every nite out...Different flavors are tasted guided by some of the experts in this domain...!!!This acts like a catalyst for all the things to happen..:):)

7)Not to forget the loud music. We realise (during niteouts )the true musicality of Musicians like Beatles,PinkFloyd,RaghuDixit,Jagjitsingh, vishal Shekhar,Some Pakistani bands,Kishore da,RD Burman..(and  the list goes on).
Music is played as long and as loud as possible until your neighbour comes and asks you to slow it down or shut it off.

8) Some hungry stomachs dial in Empire for Food, which is followed by a  walk.

9) Last point .This is about Girly niteouts which I heard from my "Girl" friends. It seems trying out different attire and taking pics is one of their major niteout activity.(No wonder their facebook profile pictures and cover photos change at such a rapid rate)....

Other things that can happen but not necessarily done
-----------------------------------------------------

        1) Camp fires
        2) Watching movies
        3) Sleeping... (Yes some people do this)
        4) Calling your friends at midnight

Food Analysis

While I was retrospecting the food habits ever since we started our career, this is what I found out.

1)  The no of restaurants that we try out has drastically increased...And it’s just not any restaurant ...We are hitting big names like Barbeque Nation, Copper Chimney, Little Italy,HRC,TOIT, etc...(I am talking considering Bangalore city...names of the restaurants is subject to change according to the cities  ...)

2) Pizzas, pastas, sizzlers etc are no longer consumed once in a while. The frequency of consumption has augmented (And as far as Dominos, Pizza hut are considered I think we have become the prime customers (in our locality) owing to the number of orders we place)

3) If you want to eat at midnight...you need not rush to Railway Station or Bus Stand ...we have Empire to our rescue

4)  Gone are those days when McDonalds and KFC were the sought after eating locations.. (Some of my friends used to travel 100kms from Belgaum to Kolhapur to eat at McDonalds)...We hardly give a damn to McDonalds nowadays, It happens to be our last option if nothing is there

5) Our Breakfast is mostly taken care by "Anand Bhavan" and the "Shanti Sagar" restaurant chain.

6) As far as those who stay in Pgs are concerned, I think their taste buds have become tired of typical Andhra food.!!!

But there is one thing that we miss a lot...The delicious food made by mom. When we used to get it on a regular basis we hardly paid heed to it..We were of the opinion that "who is going to eat the same food daily"...But now we realize that it is the best; Nothing can beat it...You see that’s why we will be waiting for an opportunity to rush to our homes and have that homely food... J J

Now this makes me remember the famous statement by mother’s  whenever we skipped the food "Ond tinglu horga idbek ninna amele mani utaddu mahatva gottagutte "  which means if you stay away from home for a month u will realize the importance of home food…and I think I have realized and also internalized this statement JJ

Natures Allure

It was just like any other day in office today.Everyone was busy with the daily routine of checking mails, attending unproductuive meetings, coding, design etc. Some were talking big jargons like reusablity, modularity, scalaiblity (i guess how much of it they actually understood). But by around afternoon something vivacious happened as mentioned below

"The Sun began to reduce its temperature and  gave control to the clouds. The Clouds collaborated and delivered collective masses of droplets called "rain".And the hailstones were the addons. And in order to make things much alluring "breeze" stepped in.What a moment it was today in Bengaluru.Thoroughly enjoyed the show put up by nature  today.

But there were two things that prevented it from being completely ecstatic.First was the absence of our friends group which would have compounded fun and second was  the absecnce of sweet smile of the special girl.:-) :-).

Well i think today i realised to an extent ,what it means when they say "Find happiness in small things".Nature always has triggers that reenergize you and i think this was one such.!!!!

Insane Consumption of Beverages

Cardamom tea, Coffee, Latte, Cappuccino, Badam milk, Lemon tea, Bourn vita, Horlicks and many more!!!!! What z the first thing that comes to your mind when you read the above list.I
guess for most of them it would be the beverage vending machines in thier office. Just try
calculating how many gallons(bit exaggerating :D) of beverages have you consumed ever
since you have entered the corporate world.????? !!!!!!!Myriad isn’t it?

No matter whether you are in a Software firm, BPO, Finance company ,or any other
Office; No matter whether you are on bench, or involved in a project or doing production
Support; No matter whether you are a project manager, or a developer or a team lead irrespective of
anything   one characteristic that cuts across all of them is "insane consumption
of beverages.”.

Just a year ago when we were still in college it would just be 1 or two cups of
beverage a day  .Most of it would be coffee/tea. Latte, cappuccino "to door ki baat hai"
except when we had coffee day visits with friends and girl friends.

But now things have changed drastically. ....Tea/coffee has been replaced by
latte, cappuccino, badam milk etc.Actually Lemon tea has turned to be the favorite drink of
many. As far as frequency of consumption per day is considered ....we start counting form 5 .And
some people don’t believe in consuming beverages in cups  . Therefore they have their own
Customized mugs(err..JUGS) for that.

I guess whenever a company places a PO(purchase order) major one goes to Cafe
Coffee day,or Nescafe.

But they are many logical reasons for this "insane consumption of
beverages" let me list down a few....

1) "No Reason"...this seems to be the biggest reason..because most of the time people
(especially  freshers) don’t know what to do and they end up with beverages..and  chit chat.

2) You can’t turn down your friends request..--Let’s assume that you have come to
office on time and you have already finished your first round of tea/coffee...An hour later your
friend  comes to office and says "Nadiyo cha kudud baron(chal chai peeke ayenge)" and you
are so good that you wont say no....and throughout the day such requests keep on coming...

3) You are developing a software ...and you are stuck .You feel that you badly  need a
break. Result: Coffee consumption.

4) You are on a night shift ...and there is no one apart from you. You virtually embrace
the coffee machine …!!!

5) You are amidst a boring ppt. You need an excuse to go out. You demand a
break. Result: Coffee consumption.

6)  Some managers prefer one on ones, priority setting, appraisal and incentive announcement
to be done over a coffee. You definitely won’t say no during such circumstances.

7)  You are in training. And as is the normal case most of the times you are sleepy. To
battle with sleep you use your most trusted weapon ....Coffee !!!

This is just a small list. Feel free to add to this list...I have to stop this post here. Because one of my
friend is inviting me for a coffee and I can’t say no. ….:)

The Ultimate place of our College time -The Katta

The Ultimate place of our College time -The Katta

Hello Everyone,
Ever wondered what is the best place in college.!!!If you ask me i would say it is our dear Katta(or what we call "katti" in Kannada ).I guess by now all engineering students might have got what i am trying to say.If you still don't get it then here is the definition:

Katta: A stone bench where college students spend most of their time :P

Now why do i call it the ultimate place?? B cos it has been the place for our  countless college memories. And for those who don't agree here goes the justification list.

1) First and foremost food!!It has  been our dining hall for 4 long years!!!
2) It has been a patient listener of all our gossips.!!!and comments which we made at almost everyone who passed in front of us.(You can actually witness  top levels of creativity when  such comments are made)

3) The place where we had prolonged discussions regarding life, cricket ,teachers, exams, future ,placements, fests, politics, grudges, anger ,passion,etc....almost everything under sky:)

4) Was responsible for countless love stories (right from inception to breakup)

5) Has also been responsible for knowledge sharing too.Don't know how many concepts have been explained ,how many question papers and answers discussed!!!!,how many journals completed!!!

6)Well not to forget the teachers.I guess its the teachers who envy Katta the most.I still remember one of my prof asking me ...."give me one good reason why you sit on the Katta everyday and i will make you eligible for internal"(well at that time 70 percent of the class was not allowed to attend internal; a major chunk comprising of students  who made it a point to spend their times on the kattas ...no matter what!).

7)And yes probably for some of us its the first place where we head to once we enter the college , Isn't It?

The list actually goes on.You people might be having so many things to add to this list.Don't you?....

Well anyways...
Katta ....miss you
